Our Journey

Our Journey
The Beginning: Our journey with Waldorf education began in 2012, when we were expecting our first child. Like many parents, we found ourselves questioning the kind of education we truly wanted—something beyond rote learning, exam pressure, and the race for marks and ranks.

We were searching for an approach that nurtures the whole child—one that supports not just academic growth, but also inner strength, curiosity, creativity, and a deep understanding of the world. We longed for an education that helps children think independently, feel deeply, and respond to life with confidence and awareness.

Discovering Waldorf Education: In this search, we discovered Waldorf education, inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner. What touched us deeply was its understanding of childhood as a journey that unfolds in its own time, and its emphasis on educating the head, heart, and hands—thinking, feeling, and willing—in a balanced and harmonious way.

Our Journey as Educators: Before this, Vikas was an engineer in the IT field for over 15 years, and Krishna was a doctor working in a hospital for more than 12 years. With the arrival of our child and our introduction to Waldorf education, life began to shift in a meaningful way. What started as curiosity soon became a path.

We began with parent workshops, followed by formal Waldorf teacher training. Along the way, we had the privilege of learning from experienced mentors and senior Waldorf educators from different parts of the world. Over the past 12+ years, we have worked as Waldorf teachers—Vikas as a grade teacher from Classes 4 to 10, and Krishna as both a kindergarten and grade teacher from Classes 1 to 10, teaching across subjects with a deep integration of artistic and experiential learning, both offline and online.

What We Observed: During this journey, we met many children and families across cities and countries who were struggling—not because they lacked ability, but because learning had become disconnected from understanding. We saw how rote methods often left children unable to relate, question, or apply what they learned.

This stayed with us.

SunMeadow Home Learners: And in 2026, it has taken form as SunMeadow Home Learners—a Waldorf-inspired online learning space where the child is at the centre.

Here, we offer live classes in small groups as well as one-on-one learning support, creating space for each child to be seen, heard, and guided according to their individual pace and needs.

Our Intention: We believe that true learning happens in an environment of warmth, rhythm, and connection—not force. When children experience learning as something joyful and meaningful, it becomes a lifelong companion rather than a task.

At SunMeadow, our intention is simple:

To make learning beautiful, thoughtful, and alive—
so that every child can grow not only in knowledge, but as a balanced and mindful human being.
