Art Classes

At SunMeadow Home Learners, the arts are offered as a quiet yet powerful pathway for the child’s development. Through colour, form, movement, and careful practice, children are supported in building concentration, sensitivity, coordination, and confidence.

The work is not rushed, but unfolds gently—allowing each child to engage, observe, and grow at their own pace.

Fees and Enrolment

All art classes are offered in small groups, creating a calm and supportive space for each child.

  • For younger children, form drawing and painting arise from stories, images, and main lesson themes, allowing the work to live in the child’s imagination. This approach helps children experience form and colour in a meaningful and connected way, rather than as isolated tasks.

  • For middle school students, the work deepens into greater focus, observation, and imagination, with more conscious engagement in artistic processes. Students work with form, light and dark, and colour through guided practice, developing both skill and inner awareness.

  • Across all age groups, the emphasis remains on the process rather than the outcome, supporting concentration, sensitivity, and a genuine relationship with the work.

Form Drawing
(Grades 1-4)

Form Drawing offers a nourishing foundation for young children. Through rhythmic, flowing forms, children develop focus, balance, and inner harmony.

This work strengthens the will, supports healthy development, and builds coordination and spatial awareness. Over time, it gently prepares the ground for Geometry in the later grades.

More than an art activity, Form Drawing supports the child’s whole being in a calm and meaningful way.

Wet on Wet Painting
(Grades 1-4)

Wet-on-wet painting introduces children to the living world of colour. Working with water and gentle washes, children experience colour as fluid, expressive, and full of movement.

This process nurtures imagination, emotional balance, and a quiet sense of wonder, while helping children develop sensitivity to colour and harmony in a natural and unforced way.

Drawing & Painting
(Grades 5-8)

In these weekly classes, children step into a deeper experience of art—working with drawing, painting, charcoal, and veil painting as a journey of discovery.

Through form, light and dark, and layered colour, they develop observation, patience, and inner sensitivity, while growing in confidence and joy in their own expression.

For middle school students, the work deepens into greater focus, observation, and imagination, with more conscious engagement in artistic processes. Students work with form, light and dark, and colour through guided practice, developing both skill and inner awareness.
